Grant Saw hit £2,500 fundraising target and announce new charity partnership with BLG Mind for 2021/22

We are delighted to announce that Grant Saw has raised £2,500 for Bromley, Lewisham and Greenwich Mind (BLG Mind) over the past year and thrilled to advise that our partnership will continue for a second year for 2021/22.

In a challenging 12 months as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent periods of lockdown across the country, the team has worked hard to raise money via a remote yoga event in July 2020 that raised £250, a 100km running challenge in September raising over £500 and the latest challenge involving twelve members of staff embarking on a 200km run, walk or cycle challenge that raised over £1,000. We have also raised money via various internal measures.

BLG Mind provide support to those in the boroughs of Bromley, Lewisham and Greenwich struggling with their mental health assisting them in their recovery, helping them to take control of their wellbeing and to lead fulfilled, productive lives. BLG Mind also work with people with dementia, supporting those affected and their families and carers with expert guidance and practical solutions to help them maintain their independence and quality of life.

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused great concern across the world. The effects of lockdown, and loss of loved ones continues to take a huge toll on our mental health and wellbeing. Despite the roadmap out of lockdown, this is likely to have lasting effects long after lockdown is over and the country is “back to normal”.

Kalpa Prajapati, Partner at Grant Saw, said “We are delighted to be working with BLG Mind for a second year. The past twelve months have been tough given the impact of the pandemic and we have not been able to do many of our usual activities from office bake sales through to quiz nights for staff and our clients so to meet our annual target of £2,500 is incredible. Well done to everyone involved. BLG Mind are a fantastic local cause and we are thrilled to continue our relationship with them for a further 12 months”.

Charlotte Fletcher, Head of Development at BLG Mind, said “We are delighted that local solicitors Grant Saw has chosen to support us as their Charity of the Year for a second time. The team did incredibly well last year to raise £2,500, at a very testing time for the world with the COVID-19 pandemic which also put additional strain on people’s mental health. At a time when demand for our services has increased but charity funding is being squeezed, we are extremely grateful for the support of Grant Saw”.

We will begin our new partnership by supporting BLG Mind during Mental Health Awareness Week 2021 which runs from 10-16 May 2021. The theme for this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week is nature and participants can choose to participate in a 13km (8 mile) BLG Mind Three Boroughs Walk or one of their suggested walks in Bromley, Lewisham and Greenwich. Well done to everyone involved and thank you to those who have supported us in our effort to hit our annual fundraising target over the past twelve months.
