Grant Saw retains Lexcel accreditation for 2025

Lexcel accreditation

We are pleased to share that Grant Saw has successfully retained our Lexcel accreditation for 2025, the Law Society’s prestigious legal practice quality mark, following a thorough assessment. Since first achieving this standard in 2007, we have consistently demonstrated excellence in client care and practice management.

Lexcel is the benchmark for legal practices, focusing on areas such as:

  • Client care – communicating our terms of business, having a transparent complaints procedure in place.
  • Financial management – demonstrating a financial performance strategy and tracking performance against KPIs.
  • Information management – showcasing data protection compliance policies and having a central location for all documentation with a named person responsible for managing and updating the information.
  • Risk management – policies and procedures to govern the risks in delivering legal advice and guidance with procedures for independent file reviews and anti-money laundering.
  • People management – this includes policies and procedures for recruitment, promotion and those resigning from the practice. Firms must also provide detailed job descriptions, inductions for all new staff plus career progression management plans and training records for all staff.
  • File and case management – procedures in place to ensure files can be opened, managed and closed effectively with policies in place for engaging any third parties on a particular matter.
  • Structure and strategy – detailed strategic planning documents with company objectives and a disaster recovery plan.

This accreditation reflects exceptional standards of business management and outstanding client service. The assessment, conducted by an experienced assessor, involved comprehensive file reviews and staff interviews, ensuring compliance across all areas. We are also proud to be accredited with the Law Society’s Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS) and Wills and Inheritance Quality Scheme (WIQS).

To achieve Lexcel accreditation, legal practices must excel in client care, including:

  • Clearly outlining the legal process, available options, timelines and costs;
  • Providing clients with direct contact details for the lawyer handling their matter;
  • Using the client’s preferred communication method for case updates;
  • Notifying clients promptly about unforeseen developments affecting their case, including any changes to timelines or costs; and
  • Confirming when work is complete, advising on next steps and discussing any future legal needs.

Laura Danquah, Compliance Manager at Grant Saw, said: “We are thrilled to have been re-accredited with Lexcel for another year. The assessment highlighted no major or minor non-compliance issues, which is a testament to our commitment in putting client care at the heart of our service. This accreditation is a commitment to our standards and reinforces our reputation as a leading legal practice in London”.
