International Women’s Day takes place on Wednesday 8 March 2023 honouring women’s achievements and increasing visibility, raising awareness about discrimination, and taking action to drive gender parity.
International Women’s Day has a number of missions including:
- Celebrating the women forging change;
- Elevating the visibility of women creatives;
- Building workplaces where women can thrive;
- Improving equality for women in tech;
- Forging women’s empowerment worldwide;
- Empowering women’s choices in health; and
- Applauding equality for women in sport.
In 2022, thousands of people across the world showed their support for the #BreakTheBias campaign which identified and called out conscious and unconscious bias to drive positive change for women worldwide.
International Women’s Day is a global day that celebrates the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The first International Women’s Day gathering took place in 1911 which was supported by over a million people.
