WILL AID 2016

We at Grant Saw Solicitors would like to thank our Will Aid clients for their generous donations which led to the firm raising an amazing total of £2,860 for the Will Aid charities during last November’s Will Aid campaign.  The solicitors in the wills and probate department at Grant Saw volunteered their time and skills to write Wills for local people and, through sheer hard work, managed to write a good number of single Wills and mirror Wills, helping these clients secure the future for their loved ones.

Rose Walker said of the campaign:

We are delighted to have raised so much money again for the Will Aid charities.  Each year we are very glad to take part and help raise money for such worthy causes and we would like to thank all those people who come forward to have their Wills written under the Will Aid scheme.”

Will Aid is the UK’s leading charity will-writing scheme.  The solicitors who join the scheme offer their time and expertise without any charge to give everyone the opportunity to make a basic Will in return for a donation to help people in need.

This money is shared by nine well-known UK charities : ActionAid, Age UK British Red Cross, Christian Aid, NSPCC, Save the Children, Sightsavers, SCIAF (Scotland) and Trocaire (Northern Ireland).

Peter de Vena Franks, Will Aid campaign director, said:-

“The campaign has raised over £1.2 million for some of the UK’s favourite charities, and we hope the total will eventually reach £1.3 million. Our charities are already putting this money to good use, helping change people’s lives for the better, both in the UK and around the World.   It’s because of firms like Grant Saw that Will Aid has become the UK’s best known Will writing campaign.”

The scheme will run again in November 2017 and will provide the opportunity for many more people in need of a Will to come forward to sort out their affairs and, at the same time, support nine charities.

In the meantime, if someone wishes to have his/her Will drawn up, they should contact one of the solicitors in the wills and probate department:-  Rose Walker, William Meakin, Laura Bailey or Kalpa Prajapati.
