Charity Football Match

“On 24th October 1857 the World saw the creation of the first football club, Sheffield F.C.

Roll forward to present day and it is 24th October 2014. The Grant Saw LLP 5-a-side football team march purposefully on towards the Wharf Cup at the “Play On Sports” centre for Tommy’s Charity. A cup held in the name of charity by the Wharf newspaper and located in the steely corporate heart of Canary Wharf.

Bolstered by the assistance of their sister company, “Grant Saw Wealth Management”, and their recent IT contractors “Fitzrovia IT Ltd”; Grant Saw fought bravely. Against the likes of Barclays, KPMG and Reebok Fitness, Grant Saw surely were theunderdogs.

Winning not a single match of their five group games would make any team question their place in the World. Not Grant Saw. For Grant Saw achieved the unachievable. Only Grant Saw went on to draw in their final game with the team that would go on to be the winners of the Wharf Cup 2014.

With eyes placed firmly on next year’s cup, the team goes back to their day-jobs of solicitors, financiers and IT consultants. One eye on today and one eye on the Cup.

The Grant Saw team thoroughly enjoyed themselves at the Cup and were honoured to be able to support such a deserving charity.”
