100km running challenge: raising funds for BLG Mind

Tuesday 1 September 2020 marks the start of a 30 day running challenge where four members of staff are attempting to run a minimum of 100km in an effort to raise funds for our 2020/21 charity partner, Bromley, Lewisham and Greenwich Mind.

Imelda Galvin, Matrimonial Secretary; Michael Pope, Consultant Solicitor; Michael Tobin, Marketing and Business Development Manager; and Ray Crudgington, Managing Partner will be taking on the challenge and the team will post weekly progress reports via the firm’s Just Giving page. You can follow the progress and make a donation here.

Ahead of the challenge, this is what our runners have had to say:

“I am looking forward to getting back into the swing of running and will be doing my first 5km this evening. I am planning to start with a 5km jog as I ease myself back into things. This is a great challenge and I am delighted to be involved as we look to raise money for BLG Mind”.

Imelda Galvin

“I am looking forward to starting the 100km running challenge for September. BLG Mind is a tremendous charity and the importance of mental health, especially in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, is even more significant at this time. Good luck to my fellow runners”.

Michael Pope

“I am looking forward to embarking on the 100km running challenge this month. My plan is to run 20km this week to get going and will combine a mix of street running and the treadmill. I am really happy to be involved and look forward to giving this my best shot alongside my 11 a side football matches and training”.

Michael Tobin

“BLG Mind is a fantastic charity and I’m delighted to get my running shoes on for them. Running through lockdown has been good for my own wellbeing and mental health. I’m going to try to discover a few new running routes in September during the Challenge!”

Ray Crudgington

Lucy Morrell, Fundraising Manager at BLG Mind, said “We are hugely appreciative of the support of Grant Saw, and very impressed with their aim to run 100km in a month. To run over 60 miles in 30 days is a very challenging task, but we know how determined Grant Saw are! Many thanks to the Grant Saw team members for their fantastic efforts to support BLG Mind’s much-needed local services. We will be following their progress closely”.

We are looking to raise £500 from this initiative which will go towards our annual fundraising target of £2,500 and we are very grateful for any support.

Stay tuned for regular updates and the very best of luck to all involved.
