Here is what some of the team had to say after the event:
“I am not known for my love of walking, but this walk was an incentive to get fit and support a worthwhile cause. The group showed a lot of comradery on the day and I really enjoyed myself and dare I say it, I became a walker! I raised over £700 which I will be splitting between BLG Mind and Kidney research (in honour of my dad)”. Deborah Taite
“I thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the Winter Walk last weekend. The route was very much a scenic one covering the Thames and some historic London landmarks. The Grant Saw team were very supportive, and it was a real pleasure embarking on and completing the challenge with a fantastic group of people. Walking 13 miles is no mean feat and I was thrilled to get to the finish line, raising money for a wonderful charity”. Michael Tobin
“A great event and I was very impressed by how well it was organised by Action Challenge. The weather conditions were glorious! It was good to spend time with work colleagues and get to know them better which has been impossible under lockdown conditions. Glad to be able to take part and hope that we can raise some serious money for BLG Mind”. Jeremy Brooks
“The reality of walking 13 miles sunk in on the day, but we had a lovely group and great weather, so it was enjoyable. No pain, no gain”! Maria Lati
“My feet have still not recovered, and it hurts to walk but it was worth every bit of pain. I had such a laugh and felt really chuffed by the end! The weather, company I had around me and being able to walk down the river seeing all the lovely landmarks London offers made for a great day out for a great cause”. Daniel Cooper
“I echo all of the comments above. It was a great day out and I was sufficiently recovered to run a 5km on Tuesday morning! It was a real pleasure walking alongside a supportive and passionate group of people to support the great work carried out by BLG Mind in the local community”. Ray Crudgington
