Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking a 0–3 year PQE Corporate & Commercial Solicitor to join our growing team in Greenwich. The role will primarily involve supporting the Head of Department across a broad range of corporate and commercial matters, providing an excellent opportunity for hands-on experience, responsibility, and career development within a supportive environment.
This position would suit a motivated and commercially minded solicitor who is keen to build a strong foundation in corporate and commercial law while working closely with senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the Head of Department on a wide range of corporate and commercial transactions, including:
- Share and asset purchases and sales
- Corporate restructuring
- Shareholders’ agreements
- Commercial contracts
- Loan agreements
- Assisting with due diligence exercises and transaction management (including data room management)
- Preparing ancillary transaction documents and Companies House filings
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements, including terms and conditions, consultancy agreements, NDAs, and supply agreements
- Conducting legal research and providing practical advice to clients
- Providing Independent Legal Advice on personal guarantee and joint borrower, sole proprietor matters
- Liaising directly with clients, third parties, and other professional advisers
- Assisting with departmental administration, precedents, and process improvement
- Supporting business development initiatives where appropriate
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified solicitor in England & Wales with 0–3 years’ PQE
- Experience in corporate and/or commercial law gained in private practice (through training or post-qualified experience)
- Strong drafting and attention to detail
- Excellent organisation skills
- Commercial awareness and a practical, solutions-focused approach
- Ability to work efficiently, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Confident communicator, both written and verbal
- A proactive and collaborative attitude, with a willingness to learn and develop
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience acting for SMEs, owner-managed businesses, or entrepreneurs
- Exposure to transactional corporate work
- Interest in developing long-term client relationships
